The Quileute Tribe

The Quileute tribe are a Native American people currently numbering appoximately 750.
The Quileute people settles onto the Quileute Indian Reservation after signing the Treaty of Quinault River of 1855 with the United States of America. The reservation's main population center is the community of La Push, Washington.
In the Twilight saga series, fictional members of the Quileute tribe live in and around Forks, Washington. Many of them are shapy-shifters. Notable Quileutes include Jacob Black and his father Billy Black.
According to the legend, the spirit warriors were the first to shift their shape from humans into wolves. The tribe settles in La Push and and became efficient fishermen and ship builders. As time passed others wanted their land and moved against the Quileutes for it.
The last of the great Spirit Chiefs came to be. Taha Aki was a man of peace and was known for his wisdom. However there was one man named Utlapa who believed that they should use their magic to expand their control over the Hihns and that Makahs and build an empire. When the spirit warriors left their bodies, their minds were all connected with each other. Taha Aki did not like what Utlapa wanted and banned him from the tribe.
Taha Aki's descendants no longer turned to wolves when they reached manhood. Only when a cold one was near would they return. The cold ones always came in ones or twos so the pack stayed small with 3 wolves until a bigger coven came. The leader of the coven spoke to Ephraim Black as if he were a man and promised not to harm the Quileutes. His strange yellow eyes gave proof of this, and a treaty was offered to the tribe even though there was no need. Ephraim accepted and the coven's numbers forces a larger pack than before.
Billy Black heads the elder council of the tribe and his son, Jacob, is part of the wolf pack. The other elders, Harry Clearwater, Quil Ateara Senior and Sam Uley, who is the eldest wolf and Alpha of the pack. Jacob comes from Ephraim and he is supposed to be the true Alpha but he refuses it.

The Volturi

The Volturi are an organized coven of vampires. They enforce the laws of the vampire world. They "invite" other vampires with poweful gifts to join their coven.
They are the "royal" family. They operate from the city of Voltera, Italy and have existed for 3.000 years. However, they prefer human blood than animals.
They are also considered "nighttime patrons of arts" as because of their inability to sleep, they study the arts at night.
The Volturi are known for their amazing and special powers. Jane and Alec, two of the guard members, are knows for their amazing and special powers. Jane can cause someone to believe that they are in pain. This helps during the attack and destroy their enemies. Alec in the other hand, can cut off all senses making the pray unable to see, hear or feel anything. Aro, one of the leaders, can hear every single thought a person/ vampire has ever had but only with phyeical contact. Marcus can sense relationships. Demetri, a member of the guard is a tracker, Renata is a shield and Chelsea can manipulate vampires who are wanted in the coven.
The coven was founded by Aro, who with Caius and Marcus is the leader of it.

Jacob Black

Jacob Black is a Native American of the Quieleute tribe and lives in La Push, close to Forks. He was 16 when he turned into a werewolf. He has two sisters who study away from home and lives with his father Billy Black. He is tall and muscular. He tends to wear only cut off stuly jeans. He is really shy when Bella is around but he loves her.
Jacob means "supplanter".

Alice Cullen and Jasper Hale

Alice Cullen and Jasper is the second married couple in the family.
Alice was born in 1901 as Mary Alice Brandon and she grew up in a dark room in a asylum. She was changed by a vampire who worked in the asylum who saved her from James, a nomadic vampire who was after her. Alice later met Jasper and moved with him to lived with the Cullens.
Jasper hale, born as Jasper Whitlock in 1843 in Texas, was a Major in the Confederate Army in TX until he was turned into a vampire one dark night by Maria and two other vampires. Jasper trained and comanded Maria's newborn army that participated in the Southern Vampire Wars. He left Maria and ran with Peter and Charlotte. A few years later he left their company because he was unable to continue feeding on humans. He met Alice in a dinner in Philadelphia and joined Carlisle's family.
Alice in a very friendly person. She has pale, ice cold skin and golden brown eyes. She is petite with pixie-like features. Her hair are short and deep black. She is opptimistic and caring. She loves singing, organizing parties and shopping in large malls ofcourse. She had enhanced abilities like everyone else in teh family and a special gift. She can see hte future and uses the "gift" to her advantage to keep her family safe. Alice's sight is limitted; she can only see the outcome of a decision once it is made. Her name means "noble and kind"
Jasper is tall with blond hair and golden brown eyes. He is muscular but lean. He has many scars on his body, face and neck. Jasper had studied Philosophy at Cornell University and he can manipulate the emotions of others. Jasper is a Persian name and means "treasurer"

Rosalie Hale and Emmett Cullen is the first married couple in the Cullen coven/family. Rosalie was born as Rosalie Lilian Hale in 1915, in Rochester, NY. She lived during the first Great Depression but her family was wealthy because of her father's job. Rosalie always wanted to marry someone rich and good looking, and she found that kind of guy. His name was Royce King the Second and her father's boss' son. Royce flirted with her and later proposed to her. A week before the wedding, Royce and his friends rapped Rosalie and left her in the street to die, bleeding. Rosalie was found by Carlisle who followed the scent of blood. Carlisle changed her. She awoke to voices of the Cullens arguing about Carlisle saving Rosalie. Later, she took revenge by killing every of Royce's friends and him, but she was careful enough to not drink their blood.
Two years later, during her hunting activities, Rosalie found a guy named Emmett McCarty who was mauled by a bear. She carried him to Carlisle resisting her thirst for Emmett's blood. Carlisle changed him and Rosalie fell in love with him and married him. Emmett describes this experience as "being saved by an angel who brought him to God". He wasnt upset though.
Rosalie is the most beautiful woman in the family. She has blonde waby hair and golden brown eyes. She is pale with ice cold skin. She was always self centered but loyal to everyone she loves. She treasures humanity and often wished she was human. Rosalie means "White Rose"
Emmett on the other hand is tall, with dark brown, curly hair and golden eyes. He is muscular and the strongest in the family. He loves to laugh and make jokes all the time. He has many enhanced abilities such as superhuman speed and strenght.

Esme Cullen

Esme Cullen, born as Esme Anne Platt in 1985, is Carlisle's wife. Esme was born and lived near Ohio. She met Carlisle when she was a 16 year old girl with a broken leg. She never forgot him though. Later, she got married to a man who was violent and who left for the army. Esme was pregnant, and that gave her motive to run away. She fled north to become a teacher, and in 1921, her sor was born and died a few days later. After the baby's death, Esme felt that she no longer had any reason to live. She tried to commit suicide by jumping off a cliff, and she was presumed dead when she was brought into a morgue but her heart was still beating. Dr. Cullen was working night shifts there, and recognized her as the happy, beautiful young girl he treated once. He did not want Esme to suffer any longer and changed her into a vampire, fell in love with her and married her later.
Esme has caramel coloured hair and golden brown eyes. She is beautiful and gifted with the ability to love passionately. As a vampire, she also possesses inhuman strength and speed.
Esme means "love or to be loved"

Carlisle Cullen

Carlisle Cullen, born in 1640s in London, was son of an Anglican pastor, during a time of religious and political upheaveals. Carlisle's father and other pastors led hunts against, witches, werewolves and vampires. Carlisle later was put in charge of those hunts and that's how he tunred into a vampire. During one of those hunts, in that chaons that ensued, he was attacked by a vampire and left bleeding. Knowing what he was becoming and what his father would do to him, he hid himself in a cellar and stayed there. He was horrified and tried with many ways to kill himself. Later on, he found out that he was able to survive on animals' blood. Carlisle found a new life. He was studying during the day and practicing his skills during the night. Those years of learning and practicing made him a great doctor. He met and changed Edward during his shifts on Chicago during the Spanish Influenza. Later, he turned Esme, his wife, Rosalie and Emmett. His family was joined by Jasper and Alice, two more vampires and they all moved to Forks.
Carlisle was described as being like a model; the perfection of beauty. He has blond hair and golden brown eyes. He was 23 when he was changed. Carlisle's most important personality trait is his compassion. As a result of being a vampire, he has many enhanced abilities such as running at high speeds and incredible strength.
Carlisle is a Celtic name and means "strong".
